M.Sc. student, Computer Science, University of British Columbia
Vancouver, BC, Canada
I am an M.Sc. student in Computer Science at the University of British Columbia, advised by Prof. Xin Tang. My research interests are in applied machine learning, with a focus on AI for healthcare and biological applications, and on building models that are interpretable and explainable.
Before UBC, I completed my undergraduate studies in Information Management (minor in Computer Science and Information Engineering) at National Taiwan University, where I was involved in several research labs:
- Project research assistant in the Speech Processing and Machine Learning Lab, advised by Prof. Hung-yi Lee, working on Taiwan-localized speech LLMs
- Mitacs Globalink research intern at the University of Alberta, working with Prof. Russell Greiner and Prof. Sunil Kalmady Vasu on deep survival prediction for cardiovascular patients
- Undergraduate research student in the Pervasive and Autonomous Intelligence Lab, advised by Prof. Fang-Jing Wu, working on indoor positioning from ambient light sensing
- Summer research student in the Bio-ASP Lab at the Institute of Information Science, Academia Sinica, working with Dr. Yu Tsao on ECG super-resolution using deep learning
On the industry side, I was an AI R&D intern at Tomofun, a world leading pet technology startup, where I worked on AI algorithm and application related research and applied it to products.
